James F. Mulvaney Jr. is being honored by Volunteers of America Southwest for his years of philanthropy. He is also active in supporting St. Vincent de Paul Village, the San Diego Center for Children and many more. He is also famous for his homemade cookies.

Veterans center in El Cajon helps homeless get back on their feet

Howard Collins served in the Marines for 12 years and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm. Last year, he was working as a diesel truck driver, and living out of his vehicle when he started having heart problems. Lajollacooks4u Welcomes Volunteers of America into its Kitchen

Lajollacooks4u hosted a charitable auction evening last month with Volunteers of America Southwest, a nonprofit organization that provides affordable housing, education, and health services to vulnerable individuals throughout Southern California.
